Asset Manager

Nes Ammim is a village in the Western Galilee, Israel, dedicated to encounter and dialogue, learning and hospitality. In its midst lives an international, ecumenical Christian community, founded and supported by European Christians and churches. Its members, motivated by the lessons of the past and the challenges of the present, are living, working and learning in solidarity with the wide spectrum of people in the country, Jews, Arabs and others.  

Nes Ammim is looking for an:  

Asset Manager in Israel 

 Purpose of the job 

• To ensure Nes Ammim is a safe place to work, live, meet, leisure and to learn and dialogue 
• To ensure the facilities meet the required quality standard to serve the purpose of Nes Ammim 
• To maintain the assets infrastructure in an optimal condition complying with the applicable rules and regulations 
• To develop a more robust and sustainable village and lower the environmental impact 
• To enhance the look and feel experience of the village 

To optimize the tasks and (human) resources within the Technical Service (TS), in close cooperation with the Maintenance Manager. 

 Tasks and responsibilities  

• Planning, budgeting, and execution of all work related to the assets within the village 
• Managing (purchase/service) contracts and contractors within budget 
• Planning and implementing all (preventive) maintenance, periodic upgrades and (future) construction activities of the village with a pool of volunteers, shared with the Maintenance Manager. 
• Periodically reporting out to the General Manager progress and spent regarding plan 

 Position in the organization: 

• As staff manager the Asset Manager reports to the General Manager of Nes Ammim, who acts as the contract party of volunteers and employees.  
• The Asset Manager is an observing member of the Management Team (MT), holds a budget and provides advice regarding all matters related to our assets and infrastructure.  

 Scope of assets: 

• A wide variety of holiday and residential houses, apartments, hotel, outdoor pool, restaurants, service buildings and offices. 

 Scope of contacts: 

• Management Team, volunteers within the Technical Service branch 
• Renters of Nes Ammim real estate 
• Israeli employees/colleagues 
• Service providers and contractors outside Nes Ammim 
• Authorities  

Knowledge and experience 

• Track record in the (service)industry for building and maintenance 
• Management knowledge and experience 
• Deep expertise regarding maintenance of building and technical units 
• Experienced in working with volunteers (benefit) 
• Mastering a proficient level of English (verbal and written).

• Christian background. 
• Interested in the ideology of Nes Ammim. 
• Willingness to live in a small village community of people from diverse backgrounds who live, study and work together, mainly on a voluntary basis. 
• The Asset Manager is a key position in the organization to be filled by a long termer on a voluntary basis. 
• Full time position 

Period of stay 

• The Asset Manager will stay for a minimum of two years with an option for a third year in Nes Ammim.
