Who are we?
ICF Wageningen is an English language international church with the specific aim of offering hospitality and Christian community to international students and other internationals living in Wageningen and surroundings. Wageningen is a city with about 43,000 inhabitants from more than 100 nations. Central in this town is Wageningen University, which hosts – apart from Dutch nationals – about 3,500 internationals studying or working there.
Likewise, our church population is also very international and relatively young (predominant age group is 20-45): international students, temporarily staying internationals, migrant (mixed) families, refugees and Dutch nationals of many different denominational backgrounds.
We aim to be a missional community that focuses on helping international students and other internationals to become followers of Jesus Christ, to grow in discipleship and reaching out to others. This is reflected in our vision, being a home to grow. We want to provide a place where people experience hospitality and where they are encouraged to grow as active followers of Jesus Christ. We function in a bottom-up fashion and encourage all our members to use and develop their gifts in contributing to various ministries and leadership. We aim to equip people so that they can use their experience at ICF to serve the Church, starting in Wageningen and often extending worldwide. We encourage Dutch and migrant members to share in this ministry to internationals.
ICF provides Sunday worship services (120-150 attendees), connect groups, discipleship courses, thematic workshops, ministries for young adults, teenagers and children and various other ministries.
ICF is an independent interdenominational church. It is part of the ICP network and participates in a network of Wageningen churches. We collaborate with Wageningen campus ministries, such as Navigators International Wageningen (NIW) and IFES.
